It has an almost round shape, typical of its origin, two islands and an emissary river, a total area of 113.5 km² (fifth in Italy), a maximum depth of 151 meters. Perched on a steep promontory, the charming village of Capodimonte is dominated by the Rocca Farnese. For the splendid position and the beauty of the landscape it is called the pearl of Lake Bolsena. Capodimonte is also an ideal seaside resort for lovers of nature and outdoor activities, having a long promenade with large green areas, flanked by a black volcanic sand beach also equipped for relaxation.
